Hugging the harbour where Peter of Aragon landed in 1282 to begin the Spanish occupation of Sicily, it rests peacefully the ancient town Drepanon, today called Trapani. Narrowly situated between the sea and Mount Erice, the old town of Trapani develops around its port. Arriving late by night at the residence "Alle due Badie", I was just waiting to get in my room as soon as possible, for I was so tired after my long flight from Japan. So I left my first diving in the beautiful night of Trapani for the next day. | After a relaxing sleep, enjoying the famous Italian breakfast, which for me consist in some cups of cappuccino with croissants (lol), we headed out to town. Many of the city's historic buildings are designed in the Baroque stile. What struck me first were these cobblestones, which made me think to the remains of the ancient city. It looks like the time couldn't wash up all the ashes of the old city from 260 BC. Strolling down the old narrow streets, I was thinking at one of the legend that tells the mythical origin for the city, which in Italian language is "luogo del cielo tagliato" (" the place cut from the haven"). The legend point up the god of the Capitol, Saturn, who eviscerated his father Uranus, god of the sky, with a sickle which, falling into the sea, created the city. In ancient times, Saturn was the god-protector of Trapani. Today, Saturn's statue stands in a piazza in the centre of the city. |

"Life is a dream for wise, a game for the fool, a comedy for the rich, a tragedy for the poor" it says Sholom Aleichem.
I have all my life been a dreamer, and people laugh at me for not being realistic. Now, what is the reality, I'm asking? For reality is different for everyone. Reality depends on how you perceive it. There are people who are saying to me, that I'm reacting too calm at every "problem " that comes in my life, or that I look so indifferent at anything that occurred in the world, and so one...But I can tell you, none is true. Yes, I'm concerned at everything, but I will not let fear and negative thoughts dominate me. I have faith and believe that everything will be alright in the end...So, I'm asking, why not learn to perceive life more usefully and you will see how the entire world will transform...and let me dream as always (lol)... "Like the Butterfly I have the strenght and the hope to belive in time I will emerge from my coocon..." I found this quote and love it so much because describes so well the person who wants to challenge everything in life. Moreover, I might say is me and everyone like me ...who follows big dreams... Have a nice day to everyone in this world, and God bless us! "At her feet lay the scattered petals of crushed rambler roses." When someone says you have to large dreams, almost impossible to achive, don't listen to him. For his tinking is limitated by small dreams. Istead, paint your life as you wanted to be. Paint it wonderfully and fill it with big dreams, then give them great feelings. Have faith and belive in them, then soon or later you will see them coming true. Don't give up at first fall. Stand up and start again with hope, involving pleasure in what you are working on, and you will see, with the pleasent surprise, what you are able to do... "I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Being willing is not enough, WE MUST DO!" Leonardo DaVinci Green is the prime color of the world it is says, and that from which its loveliness arises. William Black says: “The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only a green thing that stands in the way. Some see nature all ridicule and deformity... and some scarce see nature at all. But to the eyes of the man of imagination, nature is imagination itself.” |
